Ram Gopal Varma’s explosive post amid Don 3 controversy

Reacting to the development on Twitter, Ram Gopal Varma shared a long post strongly criticizing the federation’s decision. He wrote, “Ban ‘FWICE’, not @RaneerOfficial. The so-called ‘BAN’ or non-cooperation, in the style of Gandhiji, will ultimately turn out to be a big joke on FWICE. This is not industry or worker safety, as they are claiming. This is a purely demonstrative flexing of muscles by a very old union system in its desperation to hold on.”

The filmmaker further argued that FWICE does not have the authority to adjudicate on such disputes and described it as a “kangaroo court”. Verma further said, “FWICE is neither a court of legal justice nor a government-mandated regulatory body and, at best, it is a kangaroo court, which by definition pretends to dispense justice, but ignores established legal rules, due process and impartiality.”

Ram Gopal Varma also defended the role of actors in sustaining the film industry and argued that stars remain the primary drivers of employment and box-office revenue.

“It is stars like @RaneerOfficial who sell tickets in theatres, not FWICE. It is stars like @RaneerOfficial who create employment for those lakhs of FWICE workers, not FWICE. It is only because stars like @RaneerOfficial exist that the industry exists, and FWICE also exists,” he wrote, adding that the matter should be treated as a civil dispute between the parties involved.
