The BAFTA Awards are just around the corner and will kick off soon after the nominations list is released today. Amidst the preparations, the team is also ensuring that no chaos is created unlike the Oppenheimer prank last year.
Event leaders are tightening security and conducting extensive reviews to avoid violations. Furthermore, with wildfires raging in parts of Los Angeles, the management team is taking all possible precautionary measures to assist the people affected by the fire.
BAFTA committee chair Anna Higgs spoke candidly about the wildfires during the nominations event this afternoon. “We have a team in LA that runs BAFTA North America,” he said. They are a small but mighty team. And many of our BAFTA members in the UK and globally are influenced by their friends and loved ones who live in LA. “So we are in constant touch and working on the best ways to support them.”

Higgs added, “We canceled the BAFTA tea party because we felt this was really the direct action we could take immediately. And we’re monitoring the situation as it develops minute-by-minute, Leave it day by day.”
Meanwhile, the chairperson for security protocols claimed that security measures will be increased to eliminate all loopholes at the function.
He revealed, “We have conducted a comprehensive review. Security measures will be increased, but we cannot talk about them explicitly because it would be a breach of that security.
As far as nominations are concerned, Conclave and Emilia Pérez lead the list with 12 and 11 nominations respectively.
