After a gap of four years, filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor returns as a director in his latest film Azaad. Kapoor’s recently released film launches two new actors, Aman Devgan and Rasha Thadani in lead roles. While Aman is Ajay Devgan’s nephew, Rasha is Raveena Tandon’s daughter. Since Azaad has completed five days of its release in theatres, let’s first take a look at its box office performance on Tuesday.
Azad added Rs 50 lakh to his total; Struggle to cross Rs 5 crore
Ajay Devgan starrer Azaad has made business of Rs 50 lakh on the fifth day at the box office. This historical drama saw a decline of Rs 10 lakh from its first Monday’s earnings, i.e. Rs 60 lakh.
Despite their fresh chemistry, Aman Devgan and Rasha Thadani are not successful in drawing the audience to the theaters in large numbers. Azad has crossed the Rs 5 crore mark in five days. Cum collection of Abhishek Kapoor’s latest directorial has been recorded at Rs 5.35 crore.

Backed by RSVP Movies, Azaad is slowly moving towards its target which is between Rs 7 crore to Rs 8 crore. It needs Rs 2 crore to Rs 3 crore to meet its target, which seems unimaginable considering its poor performance and upcoming competition with Sky Force starting January 24. Aman and Rasha’s film is currently competing with Emergency at the box office.
