The film earned a mere Rs 1.50 crore on its first day, that too when it benefited from special pricing on the occasion of Cinema Lover’s Day. Furthermore, Azad recorded a decline the next day and earned Rs 1.25 crore. As per estimates, it earned Rs 1.50 crore on the third day (Sunday), taking the total to Rs 4.25 crore at the Indian box office.

Azaad would continue to struggle in the days to come, as it could not garner positive reception among critics and audiences. Had it received strong word-of-mouth, the picture could have been different.
