Avatar: Fire and Ash earned Rs. It grossed Rs 1.30 crore on its fourth Wednesday at the Indian box office on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. Due to the festival, there was a 20 percent jump in the film’s earnings. Due to this its fourth week reduced to Rs. 10.30 crores. With Thursday remaining, the film is expected to make around Rs. 11.50 crores or so.
The running queue of Avatar: Fire and Ash has reached Rs. Earning Rs 221.55 crore at the Indian box office. The film will cross the crore mark. It will cross the Rs 225 crore mark in its 5th week and then move towards its dramatic ending. Since there are few new releases this week, a decline may be seen in the daily collections of the film. However, the major hurdle for Avatar: Fire and Ash will be Borderlands 2, which will take up most of the screen.
Depending on how the film performs in the next two weeks, the James Cameron directorial is expected to make its full collection of Rs. Earning Rs 230-235 crore at the Indian box office. Although the film proved to be a clean hit at the box office, it could not match the glory of Avatar: The Way of Water.
For the record, the previous film in the franchise, Avatar: The Way of Water, was a blockbuster venture in India. The film had earned more than Rs 10 crore. Earning Rs 465 crore in its entire run, it became the highest-grossing Hollywood film of all time in India. By comparison, the latest installment will end on a much lower note.
