Acclaimed British author Neil Gaiman has faced new allegations of sexual misconduct and assault, months after similar allegations were made against him.
In a New York Magazine article titled “There’s No Safe Word”, eight women shared allegations of assault, coercion or abuse by Gaiman, including a woman who worked for him as a nanny and his second wife. Wife, Amanda Palmer, was also involved.
The nanny described being sexually assaulted by Gammon in a backyard bathtub in New Zealand in February 2022. She also alleged that the 64-year-old man assaulted her under a blanket on a hotel room bed while her son was playing with an iPad in the same room.
“He (Gaiman) said, ‘Call me ‘Master,’ and I will come.’ “Be a good girl. You’re a good little girl,” New York magazine quoted her as saying.
According to the report, most of the women allegedly abused by Gammon were in their 20s, with the youngest being 18. The author was 40 years of age or older at that time.
In July 2024, five women made similar allegations against the science fiction and fantasy author, whose books Good Omens, American Gods, and The Sandman have been turned into TV series.
These allegations were made by Tortoise Media in a six-part podcast series called Master.
JK Rowling on Neil Gaiman’s allegations
Harry Potter author JK Rowling on Monday spoke out about the allegations against Neil Gaiman and compared them to the sexual harassment cases against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.
He also questioned the “silence of the literary community”.
“The literary crowd that had a lot to say about Harvey Weinstein before he was convicted has been strangely silent in response to the many allegations against Neil Gaiman from young women he had not yet met, as that happened to Weinstein — tell remarkably similar stories,” she wrote on X.

A jury found that Weinstein, 72, sexually assaulted former production assistant Miriam Haley in 2006 and raped aspiring actress Jessica Mann in 2013. They are among more than 80 women who have accused him of sexual misconduct.
He was sentenced to 23 years in prison for the New York case and 16 years in prison for a separate California case.
