Ashutosh Gowarikar appointed Festival Director for 57th IFFI in Goa
Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar has been appointed festival director for the 57th International Film Festival of India in Goa. The move adds to his decades-long association with IFFI and his wide-ranging contribution to Indian cinema.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has appointed filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar as the festival director for the 57th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which will be held in Goa.
Gowariker’s association with IFFI spans several decades. The ministry said his appointment reflects his long-term involvement with the festival and the development of cinematic arts and global film culture.

In a statement issued by the ministry, Gowariker said, “It is a matter of immense pride and pleasure for me to serve as the Festival Director of the prestigious 57th International Film Festival of India, Goa. I feel privileged to have seen the evolution of this festival, from participating in it in 1984 to continuing our association till 2024, when I served as the Jury President for International Cinema.”
He further added, “It is a great honor, as well as a new sense of responsibility, to carry forward the legacy that has been created, nurtured and expanded over the decades since 1952 by countless Utsav teams. I look forward to working closely with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Government of Goa.”
