Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away on Sunday 12 April in Mumbai. He was admitted to hospital due to extreme exhaustion and chest infection, as confirmed by his granddaughter Zanai Bhosle.
His last Instagram post, a collaboration with the band Gorillaz, reflects his life journey, spirituality and deep connection with music. The post highlights his recent work on the Gorillaz track shadowy light.

In his post, Bhosale described this song as having deep meaning for him. He recounts a trip to Varanasi and along the banks of the sacred river Ganges, which helped him understand the purpose of life and his role on earth.

Anand Bhosle confirmed his mother’s death. He shared that those who wish to pay tribute to him can visit his residence at Casa Grande in Lower Parel at 11 am tomorrow and his last rites will be held at Shivaji Park at 4 pm on the same day.
