Josh Hartnett is synonymous with the term Hollywood heartthrob. Despite being the star of films such as Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down, Josh leads a very private life. The actor gives a rare look into his personal life, in which he explains how he makes his marriage to British actress Tamsin Egerton work and spills all the secrets.
Josh and Tamsin are both very private people who prefer to stay out of the public eye. They rarely talk about their personal lives, especially their relationship, despite being together for over a decade. Josh Hartnett recently opened up about his marriage with Egerton and how he feels it is important to be more giving in a relationship.

The two met on the set of the film The Lovers, after which their friendship and romance began. After first meeting in 2013 and beginning their relationship, Josh and Tamsin finally got married in 2021. When asked what makes their relationship work, Josh replied, “I think you have to give more than you get. That’s the biggest thing.”
The Faculty actor also gave an example that he believes if one person in a relationship is giving 80 per cent and the other is giving just 20 per cent, it will still be considered 50 per cent, because they are giving in the relationship.
But Hartnett has a reason for this explanation. He adds, “You really should give as much as you can because, naturally, as humans, we’re a little selfish. We think we see all the good things we do, but we don’t really notice all the good things the other person is doing all the time.”
Josh also talked about responsibility and spontaneity in a relationship. He further says that a person has to constantly give more in a relationship than he thinks he is getting because that is how both people can get in the way.
The Oppenheimer actor made an astute observation: “If both people in the relationship understand that and try to achieve that, I think you can build a really solid foundation.”
Tamsin Egerton is also an actress, but the simple nature of this couple has always made fans curious to know about their personal life. Egerton has starred in many great and prominent projects, such as Keeping Mum, Camelot, Love Rosie, and many more.
Hartnett and Egerton secretly married in November 2021 after having three children. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter, in late 2015. Their second and third children were born in 2017 and 2019, respectively. Hartnett confirmed in February 2024 that he and Egerton had secretly welcomed a fourth child.
Although Josh Hartnett was an actor everyone had their eyes on after his big box-office successes in the early 2000s, he decided to take a step back. The Operation Fortune star chose his family and mental peace over anything else and decided to create a happier life for himself.
After staying away from the big screen for a few years, the actor made his big comeback with Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Guy Ritchie’s Operation Fortune. He recently starred in M. Night Shyamalan’s film Trap.
