In short

  • Steve Wozniaq admitted that he had given his apple property decades ago
  • Over the years, they have put their money in different initiatives
  • Unlike his colleagues, Vose did not try to keep his life on money or to avoid taxes

Steve Wozniaq, the person who created the first Apple computer with Steve Jobs and helped Kickstart in a personal computer revolution, turned 75 last week. To mark the occasion, he created a rare and clear appearance online, responded to a discussion Slashdot Where people were debating their decision to participate with Apple Fortune, which could make them one of the richest people in the planet today. Instead of expressing any regrets, Wozniaq explained why he went back to his hometown community when he went a different route, selecting happiness, simplicity, and chasing money and power.

Wozniaq admitted that he had given his apple assets decades ago, long before the company developed in a multi-trilian-dollar veteran. “Money and power are not what I live,” he wrote, saying that his pleasure comes from supporting others, building things and enjoying life. Over the years, he has invested his money in the San Jose, museums, art groups and educational initiatives in the city where he was born and raised. In the recognition of his contribution, a road in the city is now his name. For Vose, these small but meaningful markers of goodwill are more than any billionaire rankings.

Unlike many of his colleagues in the tech world, Wozniaq has not spent his life on money or trying to avoid taxes. He said that he earns money through public speaking and pays more than half in joint taxes, without looking for flaws. After more than 20 years on the speaking circuit, they estimate that they have about 10 million dollars and a couple of homes – comfortable, but the huge fate of other Silicon Valley Pioneers is nowhere. Nevertheless, he insists that he is more happy than ever, describes himself as a “happy person”.

A part of making Vozniaq unique is the philosophy that he has developed into a youth. He says that he came with the idea that “Jeevan is about happiness, which is a minus swell” when he was just 18 or 20 years old, and he never comes out of it. This simple approach directed him through decades of opportunities and challenges, and unlike some that allow him to handle ambitions or rivalry, Vozniaq remains right for his values. He proudly states that he “never sells.”

Wozniaq’s approach is contrary to other technical leaders of his generation. While Bill Gates and Larry Ellison built the huge fate, and Elon Musk is in the headlines with bold claims and professional enterprises, Vose has kept a low profile, spending his time, working on passion projects, and even preferred to play segway polo. He has also dubbed into undertakings like a company focusing on reducing space debris, showing that their curiosity to solve problems has never really faded. But above these, he has preferred happiness on achievement and balance on competition.
