Ghostbusters has been one of the most beloved franchises for decades. Meanwhile, its recent entries have received mixed responses from critics as well as audiences. Ever since we were introduced to the new era of Ghostbusters, there have been many plans for a new and in-development franchise.

Recently, while speaking to The Direct, filmmaker Gil Cannon, who was behind the creation of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, talked about some big plans for the future.

Gil Cannon said, “We’re definitely continuing the conversation about telling bigger Ghostbusters stories on the big screen.”

While speaking with the outlet, the director further said that he, along with Jason Reitman, who is attached to the franchise’s Netflix animated project, will “keep the Ghostbusters flame burning for many years to come.” ,

“We’re definitely continuing the conversation about telling bigger Ghostbusters stories on the big screen. And stay tuned. There will be more. More to come later,” said the British-American filmmaker, who has mesmerized us with his skills in Monster House and other films.

Kenan also talked about the recently announced animated Ghostbusters project, teasing that the series will tell many of the Ghostbusters stories that people love so much.

Gil Cannon mentioned that he is actively involved with the project for Netflix, which he is extremely excited about.

The filmmaker’s words further state that Jason Reitman is overseeing Netflix’s animated Ghostbusters series “on a day-to-day basis,” making sure the entire plot is as thrilling as it is still enjoyable and fun. .

After 2016’s Ghostbusters: Answer the Call was not so well received, Sony again turned to an old-school story featuring a highly acclaimed cast from the ’80s.

Since Jason’s father, Ivan Reitman, directed the first two Ghostbusters films, as well as being the producer of all entries, following his passing, the son was called on board after Paul Feig’s project fell through.

Jason collects a collection of old cast members, beloved ghosts, and notable cars from classic movies.

Meanwhile, the director also came up with stories that had a direct connection to the Spengler family.

The recent entry Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire grossed over $200 million and was released on March 22 this year.
