Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have decided to end their marriage. According to TMZ, the Atlas actress filed for divorce from the Argo star on Tuesday, August 20. J. Lo filed the legal documents in LA County Superior Court on Tuesday and they were not filed by an attorney.
The date of separation on their list is April 26, 2024. The couple married on July 16, 2022 in Las Vegas; but August 20 is also a very important day for the two. On August 20, the couple will celebrate the second anniversary of their huge and more traditional wedding ceremony held in Georgia.
J. Lo reportedly did not mention a prenup in her documents, and knowledgeable sources have confirmed to TMZ that there is no prenuptial agreement. In other words, any money Ben and Jen have made during their nearly two years of marriage is common property.
Since the two have been married, Ben has produced The Instigators and starred in Air and Hypnotic. In addition, he recently finished filming The Accountant 2 a few days ago. J. Lo has worked on Shotgun Wedding, The Mother, This Is Me…Now,” and Atlas during their marriage.
This was the second marriage for Oscar-winning actor and director Affleck, 52, while it was the fourth marriage for pop singer-turned-actress Lopez, 55.
The documents state that Jennifer has given up spousal support and she is asking the judge to deny Ben’s request as well. They have no custody dispute because they didn’t have children together.
The initial rumours of trouble in Lopez and Affleck’s household came in May of last year, when Lopez attended the 2024 Met Gala in New York City alone and decided to stay put until the summer.
The couple didn’t get together for Lopez’s 55th birthday in July, their second wedding anniversary in July, or the July 4 holiday, as Affleck spent most of his summer vacation in Los Angeles.
