Things haven’t been going so well for Netflix in the past few days, with several episodes and even an entire series getting leaked months before its premiere. The list also includes the much-anticipated Arcane Season 2, whose first 5 episodes are circulating online. This is one of the biggest security breaches the streaming platform has suffered in recent years.
The Arcane Season 2 leak comes amidst leaks of episodes of other shows like Dandana and Ranma ½. Similar to these, the Arcane Season 2 episodes were of low quality with timestamps and watermarks. There is no confirmation if these are the original production episodes or not, and we will have to wait until the official release.
As of the time of writing, Netflix has yet to comment on the ongoing situation. The leak began in the form of opening and ending themes for several shows, before full episodes appeared on public forum sites like 4chan and some torrent websites. News of the leak first broke on X (formerly Twitter), and the links went viral.
Studio Fortich had spent years working on the sequel, which primarily focuses on sisters Vi and Jinx. Several creators of the shows affected by the leak requested fans not to watch the leak. Many fans came forward to support the creators of their favorite series, especially League of Legends fans, who spoke out against the leak.
User @GETJIINXED (X) expressed concern that seeing leaks is incredibly defensive for creators. While fans may be excited to get early access to shows, often the creators and studios suffer huge losses. Another user, @carver_fisher (X), said that leak culture is one of the worst things and wished for the links to be removed.
Arcane Season 2 is based on the game League of Legends by Riot Games, who are also producing the series. After Season 1 of the series ended on a cliffhanger, fans were excited to see the aftermath of Jinx’s attack on the Council. With Piltover and Xuan uniting their forces, we can’t wait for the battle scenes!
Terminator Zero and Re:Zero Season 3 were also affected by the attack, with all episodes of the former being leaked. While fans may be excited to get early access to the shows, the creators and studios often suffer huge losses. We request our readers to support the creators and wait for the official release of the episodes. Until then, stay tuned for Arcane Season 2 updates!
