Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman returns to Chennai in style, taking fans on a sweeping journey through his timeless classics and new hits. The evening was made even more special by Dhanush’s surprise appearance on stage.
Actor Dhanush made a surprise appearance at AR Rahman’s Chennai concert on Saturday, thrilling his fans at a packed Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. The Oscar-winning musician was performing as part of his Wonderment Tour, his first major show in the city after a long gap.

The Chennai concert was greatly influenced by Rahman’s three decade long career. The setlist started with the music Rozawhich marked the musician’s debut in 1992, and contains many of his most popular tracks, including Be victoriousWhich won him two Academy Awards.
Concert goers appreciated the atmosphere inside the stadium, especially the chemistry between Rahman and Dhanush during their collaboration on stage. Many attendees took to social media to share clips and reactions, increasing the buzz around the performance.

The Wonderment Tour has visited the UK, US, Canada and UAE in recent months and drawn large crowds. The Chennai show had special significance as a homecoming for Rahman and it coincided with the Valentine’s Day weekend, adding to the emotional resonance of the concert.
