In a rare personal interview, Apple CEO Tim Cook recently opened up about his personal life, his daily routine, what he likes to eat for breakfast, how he starts his day, what wine he likes and his favorite restaurants. As Cook talked about flipping burgers at age 14, having a paper route at age 11, or coming from a very humble background, Cook also revealed something very interesting and personal about his family. The Apple CEO has shared stories on several occasions about how an Apple Watch shared someone’s life. He has talked about the anecdotes that people send him by email and how he feels genuine joy and gratitude when he reads these stories. During a Table Manners interview, Cook told a similar story, except it was about his own father.

Asked if the Apple CEO ever had a medical alert on his Apple Watch, Cook said, “I haven’t, but my father, when he was alive, had a fall in the house, and he was left alone.” Were staying.” “And the other thing the watch does is it sends a notification to your family and emergency services if you fall, it detects the fall because of the accelerometer,” he said. “This informed the emergency services, and they came out of the house. He (Cook’s father) did not respond to the door and so he kicked the door down – and it was a good thing he did because he was not conscious at the time.’

At this point in the story one can assume that Cook’s father is proud of his son for working at the company that created a product that is his life. But things are never that simple with parents, are they? The podcast interviewer asked Cook: So, were they proud of you? “No, honestly, he was focused on the door,” Cook said. “He was more upset, they kicked out my door!”

During the interview, Cook also revealed that he starts his day before 5.00 am, responding to emails in the quiet early hours, which he finds to be the most controllable part of his day. He works at Apple Park four days a week and from home on Fridays. Cook loves Chardonnay, dark chocolate, and hiking, and he frequently visits national parks. He recently visited a cave in Slovenia. For food, he enjoys fish, cashew nuts and a meal at Ethel Fancy in Palo Alto. Hinting at future Apple projects, Cook shared that his ideal last meal would include hamachi crudo, branzino, broccolini and chocolate dessert.
