It is a great movie and I can wholeheartedly confirm that. It is beautifully made and in my opinion has Anushka Sharma’s best performance till date. The story is very relevant and meaningful right now,” he said.

“I was really shocked when I heard that the film has been shelved. I don’t know what happened between the producers or the distributors. As an actor, it’s not something I’m involved in. But as an artiste and an audience, I can say that we rarely get opportunities to be a part of something special. Right now, when our women’s cricket team is making history and the entire nation is celebrating them, there couldn’t be a better time for ‘Chakda Express’., to release. “This is the right time to honor that legacy, and I sincerely hope that everyone involved will come together to ensure that the film ultimately reaches the audience it deserves,” he said.

Now, after spending over 25 years here, I can proudly say that I am as much a Mumbaikar as a Kolkatan. I love this city, it’s my home. When it comes to birthdays, if I’m working, it’s celebration enough. But if I’m not shooting, I love spending the day with my family and close friends I have always believed that family comes first; I love to celebrate, to party with my loved ones.’

“However, what I really miss is my mother. She died in 2021, and since then, there has been a void not hearing her birthday wishes. I also miss being with my parents and sister in Kolkata on such days. Although I try to visit them or call them here whenever possible, my life and work are now deeply rooted in Mumbai, my wife works here, my kids go to school here, and we have We have lived together in the city. Still, a part of me will always belong to Kolkata, and someday, I would love to celebrate my birthday there again with my old friends.
