Actor Anupam Kher recalls the memories of meeting Michael Jackson during his visit to India in 1996. In a heart-touching note, Kher described the pop icon as the eighth wonder of the world.

Actor Anupam Kher recently reminisced about meeting late iconic singer-dancer Michael Jackson, also known as the ‘King of Pop’, during his visit to India in 1996.
Sharing an old picture on Instagram, in which he is seen shaking hands with Jackson, Kher wrote, “Dear Michael Jackson, this picture is not just a memory, it is an emotion frozen in time. I still remember the moment when I shook hands with you in Mumbai. For that brief moment, the fan in me completely took over me.”

Describing the experience as surreal, he said it felt like “touching a piece of magic. You weren’t just an artist – you were an experience. An event the world may never see again.”

He further wrote, “For the next thousand years there will truly be no one like you. No one. We are blessed… extremely blessed… that you came to this earth and touched the lives of millions with your art, your innocence and your genius. You were and always will be the eighth wonder of the world.”
“And yes, somewhere I feel sad that even today there are people who prefer to carry poison instead of celebrating purity. But greatness like yours rises far above the noise and negativity. You were God’s gift to mankind. Wherever you are, you are dancing, creating and smiling. Jai!” He concluded.
The post coincides with the release of the biopic on the late King of Pop michaelDirected by Antoine Fuqua. The film traces the pop icon’s journey from his early days to jackson 5 He reached the peak of his solo career during the Bad Tour in the late 1960s and early 1980s.
Jackson is played by his nephew Jafar Jackson, while Juliano Cru Valdi plays the younger version – both making their film debuts. The supporting cast includes Nia Long, Kellin Durrell Jones, Laura Harrier, Jessica Sula, Mike Myers, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo.
This film was released in India on 24 April.
