In honor of US Independence Day, Anthony Mackie shared a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Captain America movie, revealing the new suit. This will be Mackie’s first film as Captain America/Sam Wilson.

Mackie captioned the post, “Happy Birthday America! Have a great 4th, see you soon…”

Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) passed the torch to Sam to take over as Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame (2019) and he is seen doing the same in Disney+’s The Falcon and the Conqueror Soldier (2021).

After seeing that outfit, fans were excited. Captain America: Brave New World will be one of the major films of Marvel’s Phase 5, this film will be the 35th film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Anthony Mackie as Captain America

Just like Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson doesn’t have any special abilities and has to earn them after he finds them without any support. Being Captain America, you have a lot of big shoes to fill, as the whole country is looking up to you.

Anthony Mackie last acted as Captain America in the 2021 series, so it’s unknown what he’s up to now. The suit looks fantastic, with a slightly darker, grey color than Steve Roger’s original.

The fourth installment of the Captain America film series is directed by Julius Onah. Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson and Matthew Orton are responsible for the script. Orton was hired to work on the script for reshoots in December 2023.

Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas and Liv Tyler will also join the cast, as well as veteran actor Harrison Ford.

Marvel fans have high expectations for this film, as it was planned to be released in 2024 but now it will be released in 2025. How well will Anthony Mackie do as Captain America? Only time will tell.

Captain America: Brave New World is all set to release on February 14, 2025, in the United States.
