The upcoming science-fiction thriller film Anomie, initially scheduled to release on January 30, 2026, has postponed its plans. On 20 January, just days before the premiere, it was announced that the film starring Bhavana and Rahman would now be made available in theaters from 6 February. No reason has been made public in the note, but there could be a possibility of multiple big projects releasing simultaneously in the same period.
Malayalam film Anomie reveals new release date
On Tuesday, the makers of the film shared a post on their social media handles, "Made for big screens. Coming on February 6, 2026. Welcome to the world of anomie. Anomie – the equation of death. Starring Bhavana and Rahman. Written and directed by Riyas Marath."
The film was initially scheduled to release in April 2025, but was pushed to early next year. After its release date was announced on 30 January, the makers of the film shared their plans to release it on 6 February, a week later than the original plan. All these activities have got fans of the film’s stars excited for what’s to come.
Produced by Dr. Roy CJ, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, Blitzkrieg Films, Bhavana and Adith Prasannakumar, the film has managed to grab the attention of the audience with its recently released trailer. The compelling voice-over along with powerful cinematography has increased the interest of the audience. Harshvardhan Rameshwar is said to be scoring the music for the film, while Sujeet Sarang will step in as cinematographer.
Recently, actress Bhavana, who will be returning to Malayalam film with Anomi, shared how after announcing her decision to go on a break, she received calls from several actors and producers who expressed their desire to work with her. Talking about who decided to track her down, she shared with Galata Plus, "Still, my friends from the Malayalam film industry would call me and ask me to do films. Aashiq Abu, Prithviraj, Jayasurya – I even said no to Mammootty’s film."
