He also directly addressed suggestions that the move resulted in the loss of jobs.
“I do want to mention that there is a little bit of misinformation spreading right now that people were fired because of size inclusivity and that’s not what happened,” Hathaway said.
The actor said, “Nobody lost their job. In fact, it created more jobs. It’s very hard because I can’t say what the scene is about, but there’s a song that Lady Gaga wrote, and it’s a beautiful, amazing song. Isn’t it better when you see so many different types of bodies out there with it?”
Streep, in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar In March, she said she was surprised by how thin the models were on the film set and Hathaway stepped in with producers.
He said, “Annie saw it too, and she talked to the producers about it and promised that the models we were putting together for our movie on the show wouldn’t be so weak! She’s a stand-up girl.”
