The prestigious Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards took place on October 19, celebrating the remarkable achievements of women across a variety of industries. Famous fashion designer Anita Dongre was honored with the Best Fashion Designer award at the event.

In her heartfelt acceptance speech, Dongre reflected on her journey, expressing gratitude and the importance of empowering women. He said, “Thank you Harper for this honor. Today, I think of 18-year-old Anita, whose sole aim was to create designs that made women feel confident, and who began her journey to build a fashion empire. Today, the 18-year-old girl is living her dream and much more. I am fortunate to be able to impact so many people’s lives every day and I am very conscious of this responsibility.

“I have a strong desire that women in our country dream big and break the shackles of the belief system that says you can’t do it. The truth is, you can and you will. I am very honored to receive this award. Excited.” From Avni. Ever since I read about Avni (Lekha), I have not stopped thinking about her, her patience, her determination, it is very special for me today because I am receiving this award from her.

Paralympic gold medalist Avani Lekhara presented the award to Dongre, adding a touching touch to an evening that celebrated the strength and resilience of women.

This year’s Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year awards were based on a unique feature. The aim of the event was to create a ‘chain of empowerment’ for women by having each winner award a trophy to the winner of the next category.
