Anees Bazmee hints at casting Akshay-Kartik together in Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise
Director Anees Bazmee says he’s always trying to bring Akshay Kumar back to the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise and the future might just see him together with Kartik Aaryan.
Filmmaker Anees Bazmee is hopeful of actor Akshay Kumar’s return to the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. The director is gearing up for the third film in the series with Kartik Aaryan at the forefront. However, in a recent interview, he showed interest in welcoming Akshay back to the popular horror-comedy with a strong script.
Bazmee was speaking to pinkvilla when he mentioned that it would be wonderful to witness Akshay joining Kartik in the franchise. He shared that Kartik has a lot of respect and love for Akshay, and they would have to crack a brilliant script to see the two actors together in the same frame.
When asked about the possibility of having Kartik and Akshay together in the Bhool Bhulaiyaa series, the director said in Hindi, “What good will we get from this? Kartik is also a big fan of Akshay jiHe is a complete actor, whether it’s comedy, emotion, action, or anything else. Our friendship is also very good (It would be such a wonderful thing. Kartik is a big fan of Akshay. He’s also good friends with me).”
He added, “Toh if such a thing happens, then I will be the first person who will be so happy. You never know, Friend, what is happening in the future? This effort must be made in such a way that she also comes to Bhool Bhulaiyaa. This should be written very well because if you are talking to Akshay ji, then he will feel that ‘Hey friend, this is what is happening’‘ (I’ll be the first person to cherish this news. You never know what the future holds for all of us. I would always keep trying to do something to bring Akshay back to the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. It has to be written very nicely. If you are writing for Akshay, he should feel like there’s some meat in the story.”
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is one of the big Bollywood releases this Diwali, boasts a stunning star-cast. Apart from Kartik, it also features Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Rajpal Yadav, Vijay Raaz, Sanjai Mishra and Ashwini Kelsekar, among others. The film is hitting the screens on November 2 alongside Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again.
