Ananya Panday reacts to viral ‘struggle’ comment that came in Call Me Bae; reveals the best way to deal with things that affect her

Ananya Panday made her Bollywood debut with Student of the Year 2. Since then, she has featured in several films alongside several big stars. While the audience remembers all her commendable performances, they cannot forget the time when she spoke candidly about the struggles she faced in the industry. The reference to her viral comment also came up in the trailer of her upcoming comedy-drama TV series, Call Me Bae, which will premiere on Amazon Prime on September 6, 2024. In an interview, she reacted to it and said that she uses humour to deal with it just like her father Chunky Panday.

During a chat, Ananya Panday was praised for not keeping her past comment under wraps but actually using it in her content to make the audience laugh. Sharing her opinion on the same, the actress told Zoom that every person has a different way of dealing with it and that is how she deals with something. She further added that there are days when she feels bad about things but over the years, she has realised that the best way to deal with something is through humour.

Crediting her father, actor Chunky Panday, she mentioned that she has learnt her art from him. “He has been like that. He always pokes fun at himself,” she said. However, she also pointed out that she cannot force anyone else to follow her beliefs. This is what works for her and people should do what works best for them, she concluded.

For reference, she is talking about the time when she spoke about nepotism and her ‘struggle days’ in a roundtable interview with Rajeev Masand. When she compared her struggle to not being a part of Koffee With Karan, her Gehraiyaan co-star Siddhant Chaturvedi said that the struggle of star kids starts from where their dreams end.

The conversation spread like wildfire, leaving Ananya at the receiving end of trolls and hate. During an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, the Dream Girl 2 actress opened up about dealing with social media bullying and how she decided not to get affected by it. “I was exposed to social media from a very early age and I saw a lot of hate at such a young age, not just for me but for others around me as well. So I think, there was no specific moment, but over time seeing people deal with hate and toxicity made me realise,” she said.

In the old chat, she expressed that her mother Bhavna Pandey has been the most affected by seeing the social media trolls against her. The youngster told us, “I think the problem with cyberbullying and people behaving badly is that you are not the only one who is getting affected, it is not just between you and the bully, it is on a public platform where everyone is seeing it, be it your parents, your friends or a stranger. Even with me, whenever I used to get hate or get trolled, my parents used to get affected more than me, especially my mother.”

“So, he is very happy that I have raised this issue because when you become an actor, I think people start taking you seriously. I think it hurts a lot when someone comments on my family, my father or my mother or my sister. It makes me really angry,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ananya Panday will next be seen in CTRL, followed by Shankara.
