Amul celebrates Boong’s historic BAFTA achievement with creative new themes
Amul celebrates the historic win of Lakshmipriya Devi’s Manipuri film Boong at BAFTA with a creative special timed ad.

It tells the story of a young boy named Boong, played by Gugun Kipgen, who dreams of reuniting his family. Raised by his single mother Mandakini, played by Bala Hijam Ningthoujam, Boong sets out on a journey with his best friend to find his missing father. The film beautifully depicts innocence, emotions and the strong bond between a mother and her child.

During her acceptance speech at the BAFTAs, Lakshmipriya Devi said, “Walking here felt like the last few steps to the summit of a mountain we never knew we were climbing in the first place.”
She said, “I just want to use this opportunity to say that we pray for peace to return to Manipur. We pray that all the internally displaced children, including the child actors in the film, get back their happiness, their innocence and their dreams once again.”
In her concluding remarks, Devi stressed the importance of resilience and forgiveness.
