A clip from the film Qurbani paying tribute to Sanjay Gandhi and Indira Gandhi has gone viral, rekindling the online discussion. The tribute video has resurfaced on social media amid the promotional claims of Dhurandhar 2.

Former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi was also mentioned in the video. Internet users compared this to the ongoing ‘publicity’ debate regarding director Aditya Dhar. Sanjay Gandhi died in a plane crash on 23 June 1980. He was 33 years old.
In the video, we can hear the voice of Feroz Khan calling Indira Gandhi the ‘Iron Lady of our country’ and ‘Mother of our great nation’. Khan addressed Sanjay Gandhi as ‘sleeping prince’ in the voice over. The video also revealed that the makers had decided to donate the earnings from the premiere shows in Bengaluru and Delhi to the then government in the memory of Sanjay Gandhi.
X users commented on the Sanjay Gandhi tribute video going viral and termed it as ‘propaganda’ of the 80s. These comments came amid the ongoing debate about Dhurandhar: Revenge Being a promotional film.
While sharing the video, an X user wrote, ‘Dear GenZ, this is the beginning of the 1980 Hindi film Qurbani, you should watch it, I have no comment on it.’
There were mixed reactions from X users. One person wrote, “Extreme level of propaganda. He called Sanjay Gandhi the prince of India. Without Jan Sangh, this would have ended up in NCERT textbooks.”
Another user commented, “Hype became famous before publicity.” One user defended Firoz Khan, writing, “Okay, I have to say something.
