Actor and content creator Sahiba Bali has urged the media to stop speculating about her personal life after she shared a photo of Indians standing in solidarity with protesters outside the Indian High Commission in London.

Sharing a photo from the protest, which supported the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest in India demanding accountability and immediate reforms in India’s education system following irregularities in the NEET exam, Sahiba said that her dating life was “not national news” and asked the media to focus on issues that matter.

Sharing a photo of the protest outside the Indian High Commission in London, Sahiba wrote, “Dear media, stop speculating about my dating life/friendships in London – this is not national news. But If you want to show it then look at this (But if you want to show something, show this instead) (sic).”

The photo shows members of the Indian diaspora protesting in solidarity with people protesting across India demanding accountability and immediate reforms in the country’s education system.

CJP protesters have been at the protest site at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar since June 6 demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over irregularities in the NEET exam. Educationist and activist Sonam Wangchuk was on an indefinite hunger strike there before she was detained and shifted to Safdarjung Hospital.

Another creator, who shared a video from the protest site in London, wrote, “Today, we stood outside the Indian High Commission in London to show solidarity with the nationwide protests demanding accountability and immediate reforms in India’s education system.”

The post said, “Students deserve better. People across India and Indians abroad are demanding transparent leadership and accountability from those responsible for the country’s education. Those who fail to deliver meaningful reforms must be held accountable, and if they are unable to meet their responsibilities, they must make way for competent leadership. India deserves an education system that is equitable, accessible, and focused on the future of its students.”

Sahiba’s post comes days after she linked up with actor Arjun Kapoor after they were seen together at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London during the third ODI between India and England. The scene sparked dating rumors on social media.

Responding to the speculations at the time, Sahiba shared a picture with Arjun on Instagram Stories and captioned it, “Don’t believe everything pt 2.”

The caption was a follow-up to another story in which she shared a screenshot of a social media post in which she was mistakenly identified as actor Anushka Sharma.

Reacting to the mix-up, she wrote, “Don’t believe everything, pt 1”, before posting the picture with Arjun, indicating that not everything that circulates online should be believed.
