A 23-year-old man in the United States has been arrested for killing his father and attempting to kill his mother in Bartow, Florida. according to Independent, Joseph Voigt admitted Monday to shooting and killing his mother, 58-year-old Susan Voigt, and killing his father, 63-year-old Marvin Voigt, over the weekend. Authorities said they arrived at the scene after Ms. Suzanne called the police and said she and her husband had been shot by their son.

Joseph Voigt appeared in Orange County court Monday morning. He will be returned to the Polk County jail, where he will be charged with murder and attempted murder.
