Aman Sehrawat wins Olympic bronze: From Ranveer-Deepika to Kareena, celebs congratulate him

Aman Sehrawat won the first wrestling medal for India at Paris Olympics 2024. Other celebrities including Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor and Huma Qureshi congratulated him.

Aman Sehrawat, who made his Olympic debut this year, won the bronze medal in the men’s 57kg wrestling category on Friday, August 9. Soon after his historic achievement, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and other celebrities congratulated the 21-year-old.

Aman Sehrawat defeated Puerto Rico’s Darian Toi Cruz 13-5 in the men’s 57kg wrestling category at the Champ de Arena on Friday to give India its first medal in wrestling at the Paris Games. The young wrestler gave India its fifth bronze medal at the Paris Olympics.

Actor Ranveer Singh shared a photo of Aman on Instagram and wished him. He wrote, “Haryana’s Lion (Lion of Haryana) (lion and flexed biceps emoji)”, Ranveer also tagged the wrestler.

Kareena Kapoor congratulated Aman on Instagram, writing, “(partying face emoji) congratulations @amansehrawat057.”

Aman Sehrawat dedicated his bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics to his late parents and India after he defeated Puerto Rico’s Darian Toi Cruz 13-5. “My parents always wanted me to become a wrestler. They didn’t know anything about the Olympics but they wanted me to become a wrestler. I dedicate this medal to my parents and country,” he said after winning the bout.

Aman’s parents died when he was 11 years old. He became the youngest Indian to win a medal at the Olympics.
