From the marketing team, someone is coming; from the actor’s team, the manager is coming – who is then suggesting, ‘Why shouldn’t we go with Arijit Singh? Shouldn’t we go with Vishal Mishra?’ And I think the reason my choices were these three was because I wanted a slightly bolder sound. I thought there was only one person who epitomized classical music in this country – he is Sonu sir – and I knew he could do it.”

Sonu Nigam’s professionalism impressed Malik and the team. According to Malik, “He (Sonu Nigam) completed the song in 45 minutes. This is the most difficult song on earth that I have recreated – Pritam Da’s original song which I changed to a new verse.
