A day after the ceremony, Yagnik opened up about her health journey in an Instagram post. The singer revealed that she had largely stayed away from public events over the past two years due to health challenges, but decided to attend the event as she was slowly “looking for a way back”.

Yagnik, 60, had revealed in 2024 that she had been diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss, a rare hearing disorder that kept her out of the public eye for a long time.

Along with Yagnik, several prominent personalities including Mammootty and R Madhavan were honored at the ceremony. Late actor Satish Shah received the Padma Bhushan award from his brother Arvind Shah. This year, the President approved 131 Padma awards, including five Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan and 113 Padma Shri honours.

Over the course of her career, Yagnik has emerged as one of India’s most renowned playback singers, earning two National Film Awards, seven Filmfare Awards, and numerous other accolades.
