In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, Alia Bhatt was asked if a sari was her first choice for the Met Gala. In response, Alia said, “Instinctively, yes.” She revealed that it was because the garment fit in beautifully with the theme of the fashion event. The actress said that she imagines how she will look, whether it is for the Met, an award function or an interview.
Alia further explained that she always has a brief because that’s how she is and she likes to give a story to everything. She described the Met Gala as “so much fun”, citing the months-long process of creating a story around the theme. Alia added, “So yes, instinctively, I felt that this kind of thin, ethereal, fairy-like, timeless feeling would sit so beautifully in a sari.”
He further added, “Whether it works or not, I know it’s very natural for me.”
When Alia Bhatt revealed the making of her Met Gala sari
Alia Bhatt wore a beautiful floral Sabyasachi saree at the Met Gala on May 6. Sharing pictures of her look on Instagram, Alia revealed the effort that went into creating her outfit. “It was a crazy experience to create… fun and stressful in equal parts. It took the collective effort of 163 dedicated individuals, including master craftspersons, embroiderers, artists and dyers, who put in a total of 1965 hours to create this stunning saree,” she said.
Talking about work, Alia is preparing for the release of the action thriller Zirgra directed by Vasan Bala. She is also going to start shooting for the YRF Spy Universe film soon.
