Ali Fazal, Richa Chadha break fixed deposits to fund Girls Will Be Girls
Actors Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal broke their fixed deposits to finance their first production Girls Will Be Girls, which has been praised for its portrayal of teenage challenges. The film premiered at international festivals and is now available on Prime Video.
Actors Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal, who produced the critically acclaimed film Girls Will Be Girls, said they broke their fixed deposits for the film. The film starring Kani Kushruti and Preeti Panigrahi was recently released in India on Prime Video after screening at several international film festivals.

To be honest, we asked for money here and there and even broke our FD to fund Girls Will Be Girls. But we managed.”
“For example, this film was edited in France. It got a grant because of the basic idea of the film,” the Masaan actor said.
For those unaware, Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha launched their production house with the aim of supporting filmmakers struggling with financial limitations. Girls Will Be Girls marks her first project directed by Shuchi Talati.
The film premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, earning two awards and widespread acclaim. Actresses Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan and Aditi Rao Hydari praised the film After its OTT release.

India Today Digital said in its review for Girls Will Be Girlsgave the film four out of five stars. Girls Will Be Girls explores the challenges of adolescence and social pressure through the story of 18-year-old Meera. The film follows his journey of rebellion and emotional struggles, linked to his mother’s incomplete experiences of her childhood.
