Al Roker reacts to Hoda Kotb’s exit from the TODAY show: ‘I would feel very bad…’

Speaking with People Magazine at the Food & Wine Classic Charleston event, the 70-year-old journalist revealed she’s thrilled for Kotb, who is entering a new, personal phase of her life.

Speaking to the entertainment portal, Al Roker revealed that he will miss his colleague and feels bad about Kotb’s departure. He elaborated, “Will I miss her day after day? Sure. But I’m so thrilled for her that I can’t possibly feel any sadness.”

He added, “The thing is, I would have felt very bad if she were leaving, but she’s doing something else within our NBC News family.”

On September 26, Kotb wrote a letter to NBC announcing his exit from the show. “As I write this, my heart is all over the map,” she wrote in the letter.

She added, “I know I’m making the right decision, but it’s painful. And you all are the reason for it. They say two things can be right at the same time, and I find it so deeply true.” “I am feeling.” Now I love you and it’s time for me to leave the show.”

The TV star also said that she has had an exceptionally good career in broadcast journalism, but now it is time for her to move on. She further claimed that although she is sad to leave the show, she is also excited about what lies ahead for her.

Showing sympathy over Hoda’s decision, Al Roker shared that when his children were young, he chose a job that would allow him to devote time to his children, and Kotb has been working long hours, despite this. that their children are very young at this time; Hence, he supports the TV show host. In her last episode of TODAY, Kotb recalled the support she received from Al Roker when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007.
