According to a source close to the development, the procedure took place on the morning of Wednesday, May 6, and was done to improve vision.

“It was a minor surgery done on the morning of May 6. It was for vision correction. Akshay will now take a break and recover as he has also completed the Keralam schedule of his next film with Anees Bazmee,” the source said. Hindustan Times.
The untitled film also stars Vidya Balan and Raashi Khanna. Akshay had recently shared an update from the Keralam schedule on Instagram, posted a picture with his co-stars and treated fans to a glimpse from the sets.
This project marks the reunion of Akshay and Vidya after many years of successful collaboration. It brings Akshay back with Bazmee after almost 15 years.
