On Sunday, April 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Civil Rights Advocates and Freedom Fighter, Sir Chettur Shankaran Nair for challenging British rule after the Jalianwala Bagh massacre. While he did not directly reference to the film, PM Modi’s comment came just before the release of ‘Kesari Chapter 2’.
Speaking at a rally in Yamuna Nagar, Haryana, the PM said, “There was Baisakhi in Punjab, but it was also the 106th anniversary of the Jalianwala Bagh massacre. One aspect of this genocide is being made in the dark – it is a hikener. All the allowances and luxuries enjoyed, but he chose to give it.”
‘Kesari Chapter 2’ is set to hit theaters on 18 April.
