Akshay Kumar brushes off complaints of overexposure and doing 4 films a year; recalls Amitabh Bachchan’s advice

Barring a few of his previous releases before Sarfira, Akshay Kumar has been one of the most bankable stars of Hindi cinema. His films like Ram Setu, Selfie, Mission Raniganj and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which turned out to be flops are proof of this.

Akshay signs several films a year, but the actor “doesn’t want to take a call” on whether they will work at the box office or not. The superstar continues to choose projects he believes in.

Akshay Kumar said that he will do 4 films in a year

In a recent interview with Galta Plus, Akshay Kumar shared his thoughts behind the underperformance of films in his career. Akshay believes that if he chooses a film in two years, there is no “guarantee” that it will be a success.

“I have seen people do that and then the film doesn’t work, and they don’t get any films for the next year. It’s all about doing films with business in mind and what you want to give to the audience,” the Sarfira actor said.

Describing his idea as a mix of “creativity and commerce”, Akshay spoke about the issue of overexposure, saying he has no choice but to continue working.

Akshay remembered Amitabh Bachchan’s advice

During the same interview, Akshay Kumar revealed an advice that megastar Amitabh Bachchan gave him. Khiladi Kumar said that Amitabh advised him not to stop working as long as possible.

“Keep working. Don’t give up, it’s useful, keep doing it,” the superstar recalled.

The 56-year-old actor also said that the senior actor also advised him not to pay attention to anyone and trust the audience.
