The Akini family came together in Hyderabad on September 9, 2025, to celebrate Zainab Rao’s first birthday since marrying actor Akhil Akineni. The festival was a family relationship, in which Nagarjuna, Amala Akineni and Naga Chaitanya participated.
A special birthday for Zainab Raoji
Zainab, who tied the knot with Akhil Akini on 6 June, 2025, marked his first birthday as his wife. To make the day memorable, Akhil shared a black and white picture on social media, where he was seen holding Zainab nearby. With the photo, he wrote a hearty caption: “Happy birthday, everything is mine.”
The celebration of this birthday also marked one of Akkinis’ rare public appearances after marriage. While Nagarjuna, Amala and Naga Chaitanya were seen in the event, Sobhita Dhulipala, who is married to Naga Chaitanya, was particularly missing.
When did Akhil Akineni and Zainab Rao get married?
Akhil and Zainab tied the knot in Hyderabad on 6 June 2025. The intimate wedding took place at Akineni Niwas and was attended by close families and friends. Sharing the news, Nagarjuna wrote on social media: “With great pleasure, Amala and I am thrilled to declare that our beloved son got married to his nutritious Zainab in a beautiful ceremony (3:35 pm) at his house, where our hearts are inhabited. We see a dream, which is closest to America.
The pair was in a relationship for two years before engaged in November 2024. Many close friends of the industry participated in her wedding, including actress Sobhita Dhulipala.

The birthday festival brought Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and Amala together with Akhil and Zainab. Fans were happy to see the family in a frame, as Akikinis are often private about personal opportunities.
Nagarjuna and Amala’s younger son Akhil started their film as a child actor in Sisindi (1995). Over the years, he has acted in films like Akhil (2015), Hello! (2017), and agents (2023). His elder step brother, Naga Chaitanya first married Samantha Ruth Prabhu before separating in 2021. She married actress Sobhita Dhulipala in 2023.
