Bharti Airtel has announced a new partnership with Google that will provide users free access to 100GB of Google One Cloud Storage. However, this proposal is only for Airtel’s postpaid mobiles and broadband (Wi-Fi) users, who will get 6 months membership for Google’s cloud service without any additional cost.
According to Airtel, 100GB cloud storage will be available for 6 months from the date of activation. Eligible users can redeem the profit through the Airtel Thanks app, where an option will be made available to activate the Google One Storage Plan. Once active, the users will be able to reach 100GB storage in Google Photo, Google Drive and Gmail.
This proposal is its compatibility with both Android and iOS platforms. Additionally, the users will be able to share their storage plan with five other people. This can be particularly useful for families or small teams who want to manage their files and backups under the same plan without making additional payments for each user.
Airtel is giving free 100GB cloud storage: Important points to note
6-Once the free period is over, the users will be charged a nominal fee of Rs 125 per month for selection to continue with Google One subscription. If users decide not to renew the service, their access to this 100GB free storage will be removed, although their existing files will not be removed immediately. Google usually informs users several times to ensure that they have enough time to download or transfer their data elsewhere.
The 100GB scheme of Google one is priced at Rs 130 per month or Rs 1,300 annually. This means that the Airtel users who avail 6 months free membership will save about Rs 780 based on the monthly plan rate.
It is worth noting that Google already provides 15GB free cloud storage to each user with Google or Gmail account. This quota is shared in all Google services such as Google Drive, Photo and Gmail. Once filled, users are motivated to upgrade a payment Google to a plan. Airtel-Google offering effectively expands this free quota for 6 months, giving users a wide cushion for managing their digital content.
