Ahaan Pandey finds letter written in blood: Mother Dean talks about dark side of fame
Ahaan Pandey’s performance in Syara has made him the new youth icon of 2025. As their fame grows, their family faces both overwhelming love and harassing behavior from fans.

Ahaan Pandey’s stellar performance in Saiyaara may have made him the newest heartthrob of 2025, but behind the thunderous applause and social media frenzy lies a truth that his family was not prepared for. In a recent interview, Ahaan’s mother Deanne Pandey revealed how overnight fame brought not only praise but also shocking moments, like when she received a letter written in blood.
Directed by Mohit Suri, Syayara, co-starring Aneet Padda struck a chord with the young audience with packed theatres, emotional reactions and viral fan edits across all platforms. Almost instantly, Ahaan transformed from a newcomer to a youth icon.
Speaking about sudden fame shake one’s headDean shared. “Within days of the film’s release, our lives changed completely. There were photographers outside our house every day. We are a very ordinary family – my husband doesn’t even attend industry events. Suddenly, privacy disappeared.”
With fame came a flood of fan mail. According to Dean, the family now receives thousands of letters every month – ranging from sketches and handwritten notes to videos sent by parents of children dancing to Saiyara songs abroad. “Fans range from children to people over 80,” he said. “Many letters talk about how the film or Ahan made them feel or gave them hope. It’s incredibly inspiring.”
She admits that affection often gets the best of her. “When women praise them, I feel emotional and proud. Seeing your child loved so deeply by strangers is a strange but beautiful feeling.”
However, it is not easy to process all the fan interactions. Dean revealed that one letter, in particular, crossed a dangerous line. “We once received a letter written in blood. It was very disturbing.”
The family responded by urging the fan not to repeat such actions again. “We told them it’s not healthy or safe. Ahaan would never want anyone to hurt themselves for him,” she said, emphasizing the importance of boundaries even in devotion.
Before Sayara, the Pandey family’s mail consisted mostly of routine correspondence. Now, almost every envelope claims to be from Ahan’s “biggest fan”. While the attention is still new, Dean says the family is learning to navigate it carefully.
Ahaan Pandey will next be seen in an untitled action-romance film directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Yash Raj Films.
