She wrote, “Hi everyone! I’ve been holding myself back but I have to say something that has been weighing on me since my film Agra got leaked. To say I’m gutted would be an understatement. It’s heartbreaking to see our months of hard work, dedication and passion being ignored like this. Making an art film is an intense journey filled with countless challenges, sleepless nights and unwavering commitment.”

The note further added, “What’s even more disappointing is how quickly some people judge without understanding the blood, sweat and tears that go into bringing a project like this to life. Agra is not just another film – it’s a labour of love that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival 2023, a prestigious honour for any artist. The film has been internationally acclaimed, winning numerous awards and receiving recognition for exactly what we strive for: pushing the boundaries of world cinema.”

It ended with, “I stand by my choices, and I am extremely proud of this film and the entire team that made it. For those who do not fully understand or appreciate this genre of filmmaking, I request you to respect them. Art is not always easy or comfortable-it is meant to challenge, evoke emotions and make us think. Let’s promote and celebrate the diversity of cinema rather than tearing down the hard work of artists. Thank you for your support and understanding. Let us all continue this creative journey together with love and respect. Love Ruhani Sharma (sic).”
