Trisha Krishnan on Sunday broke her silence on the comments made by actor-director R Parthiban at a recent awards ceremony in Chennai. Without taking anyone’s name, the actor expressed that a microphone does not make a comment intelligent, it just adds to the stupidity. He also said that raw words without knowledge reveal more about the speaker than the person they are aimed at.
The incident came to light when Parthiban took a dig at Trisha’s public appearance with actor-politician Vijay at a wedding reception in Chennai recently. Soon after Trisha’s reaction, Parthiban apologized, admitting regret over his words.

Trisha’s reaction on social media
Trisha responded on her ex’s account without directly naming Parthiban, but addressed the comments made at the event. “Recently the organizers of an event informed me that my name and photograph were included at the last minute at the request of a man through his assistant,” he wrote.
“A microphone doesn’t make a comment intelligent or humorous. It just makes the stupidity worse. Uninformed rude words say more about the speaker than the person they’re aimed at,” Trisha said in her statement.
Parthiban apologized for his remarks
Soon after Trisha’s post, Parthiban issued an apology on Instagram. His post read, “What happened. Everything has gone wrong. There is no way out but to repent! (sic).” The apology followed mounting criticism and demands for accountability over his statements on the programme.

The controversy began when Parthiban, when asked to comment on actors with whom he had previously worked, saw a picture of Trisha on stage. Using wordplay referring to his character Kundavai, Parthiban reportedly said, “Indha Kundvaye Konjneram Kunthavaikkirthu Nallath (It is better to ask this Kundavai to sit at home for some time).”
“It is better that he does not come out because it is creating a lot of issues,” he said.
Vijay, Trisha and public scrutiny
Trisha and actor-politician Thalapathy Vijay recently attended a wedding reception in Chennai. The two arrived together, got photographed and exited the venue together. The timing of his appearance also attracted attention, as Vijay’s wife Sangeeta Sornalingam had recently filed for divorce.
Vijay’s statement amid ongoing speculation
Sangeeta’s petition, which is expected to be heard in late April, cites “persistent mental cruelty, neglect and abandonment” and alleges Vijay was involved in an extramarital affair with an actress.
In the wake of speculation, Vijay addressed the situation at a Women’s Day event organized by his political party. He said, “There have been some issues going on lately, right? I see you all are busy fighting those allegations and getting injured in the process. In fact, it hurts me to see you getting hurt. I will take care of all of them. Let’s just focus on people’s problems. Don’t get hurt about that problem – it’s not worth worrying about. Be assured. Only good things will happen.”
Trisha has not yet addressed the speculations related to her personal life.
