Actress Sreeleela has been at the center of a social media storm after her comments on menstruation sparked widespread backlash. This comment was made during the success meeting of Ustad Bhagat Singh held in March following the film’s release, where she spoke about her personal experiences as a working woman.
During the conversation, Sreeleela said that she has continued to work even during her periods and believes that physical and psychological barriers should not be used as an excuse. Sreeleela said, “All my songs, I can say, at least most of them have been appreciated. I have shot during my menstruation, so that’s not an excuse. When we want things in power, when we say we want things equally, I think we have to go beyond the physical barriers. So psychological, physical, all this is not an excuse.”
