Actor Sai Pallavi is reportedly set to headline a biopic based on the life of renowned Carnatic singer and cultural icon MS Subbalakshmi. The film, which is expected to be produced by Geeta Arts, will revisit the achievements and impact of the pioneering singer who left an indelible mark on Indian classical music.

According to reports, the project is currently in the planning stage, with Sai Pallavi being considered for the lead role. Gautham Tinnanuri, known for his work in acclaimed films like malli rava And jerseyis reportedly on board to direct the biopic.

Neither Geeta Arts nor Sai Pallavi have made any official statement regarding the project. The production house, which had previously collaborated with Pallavi ThandelIt is said to be gearing up for another big release that will highlight the legacy of MS Subbalakshmi.

MS Subbalakshmi, who died in 2004 at the age of 88, was the first musician to be awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour. She also received the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 1974 and became the first Indian musician to perform at the United Nations General Assembly in 1966.

The acclaimed singer also had an early career in cinema, starring in films between 1938 and 1947. His musical journey and contribution to Indian culture has continued to inspire generations of artists and fans.

Sai Pallavi, is currently busy shooting for the much-awaited film Ramayana With Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, the anticipation for the proposed biopic has further increased.
