Actors Jayaram and Urvashi reunite after 20 years for Pandiraj’s new comedy film
Veteran actors Jayaram and Urvashi are teaming up once again for director Pandiraj’s upcoming comedy, resuming their successful on-screen partnership after 20 years.

Two well-known faces of South Indian cinema, actors Jayaram and Urvashi, are reuniting once again for director Pandiraj’s latest comedy project. The pair, who have gained recognition for their comedic timing and on-screen chemistry, last starred together in a feature story nearly two decades ago. The news of their reunion has caught the attention of film fans, with Jayaram himself confirming that filming is underway, although the title of the film has not been revealed yet.
Jayaram, who is currently busy shooting, expressed his excitement about working with Urvashi again. In a recent interview he revealed, “After 20 years, we are acting in a film together. The shooting is going on, but the title is not finalized yet. It has a highly entertaining, humour-filled story. Each scene will take about 10-15 takes as we will keep laughing in between the shots. Pandiraj sir will wait for us to finish laughing before starting the shooting of the next scene.”
The actors have a long history of successful collaborations in both Malayalam and Tamil cinema. His acting in films like grinding mill, kadinjool kalyanam and tamil hits Panchatanthiram Has made him a favorite among the audience. In 2020 they were seen as a couple in the anthology Putham Pudhu Kalai On Prime Video.
Reflecting Urvashi’s distinctive acting style, Jayaram shared an anecdote from the sets of his upcoming film. “There’s a scene in the movie where she’ll repeat exactly the same words I would have told her not to say and then look at me and ask, ‘What I said was right?’ No one can express like that,” he said, praising her spontaneity and skill.
Details about the story and other cast members have been closely guarded. An official announcement from the filmmakers is still awaited. Jayaram noted that working with Urvashi often led to moments of improvisation and laughter, adding to the natural flow of their scenes together.
