Actor Yash’s mother Pushpalatha has filed a complaint with the Bengaluru Police accusing film promoter Harish Arasu of defrauding her of Rs 64,87,700 during the promotions of her debut film ‘Kothlavadi’.

Kannada actor Yash’s mother Pushpalatha has filed a police complaint against film promoter Harish Arasu, alleging that she was defrauded of around Rs 65 lakh in connection with the promotion of her debut production ‘Kothlavadi’. She claimed that funds were misappropriated and that she faced threats and intimidation when she raised concerns about financial transactions. The complaint filed at High Grounds police station in Bengaluru seeks legal action against Harish Arasu and several others for alleged cheating and criminal conspiracy.
On the basis of the complaint, FIR has been registered. In the complaint, Pushpa said she had entrusted Harish with the responsibility of promoting her film, which was shot between May 24 and mid-July at locations including Talakadu, Gundlupet, Mysuru and Chamarajanagar. Both parties had reportedly agreed on a promotion fee of Rs 23 lakh.
Pushpa claimed that Harish later collected an additional Rs 24 lakh through various channels using the film’s brand name. In all, she alleged that Harish took Rs 64,87,700 from her on July 31 for print media advertising, which also included Rs 4 lakh in cash.
Despite this, Pushpa said that no promotion was done for the film, which was scheduled to release on 1 August. He claimed that the actor had to spend Rs 21,75,000 from his own pocket as Harish failed to execute the promotional work, and alleged that several social media and film media promoters were not paid.
When she questioned him, Harish allegedly threatened her and demanded Rs 27 lakh back. Pushpa further claimed that she did not find any promotional material available for the film on 1 August and later learned that Harish was spreading negative publicity. She also accused him of posting derogatory comments about her on social media and threatening to come to her house and create disturbance.
Pushpa said that on August 15, she and the film’s director Sriraj Rawari received threatening phone calls from Harish Arasu, Manu, Nithin and other unknown persons. Through his complaint, he has requested legal action against Harish Arasu, Manu, Nitin, Mahesh Guru and Swarnalatha (Ranayak) for cheating, intimidation, defamation and criminal conspiracy.
