Actor Kasturi Shankar admitted to watching Jan Nayakan’s leaked clip and termed it a political propaganda film supporting Vijay’s party, TVK. This leak had sparked controversy just before the Tamil Nadu assembly elections.

Kasturi said that she saw leaked clips of the film shared with her through WhatsApp and other platforms. “It is the talk of the town at the moment. I am also learning new information about the film and I can tell you that if it is seen by the public, it is beneficial for TVK and not for BJP or DMK – the parties Vijay is accusing,” she said in a statement. tells Jan Naygan As for the “three-hour propaganda” film, Kasturi raised questions as to how the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and other agencies allowed the highest quality version to be leaked. He commented that the film is available online without censorship or editing.
He said, “It is clear that whoever leaked the film wanted every word of their propaganda to reach the people.”
Kasthuri accused the ruling DMK government of deliberately blocking the theatrical release of the film in Tamil Nadu. He suggested that the state government (DMK) was behind the non-release due to the film’s focus on Tamil Nadu politics, comparing it to the release of a DMK-aligned film – tn 2026 – Same day.
He further claimed that the leak could have been done by someone sympathetic to Vijay. He said, “If this film is watched by people, it will impact them and in turn benefit TVK. Whatever actor Vijay or his second-rate leaders come out and say is complete sham. They are just trying to distract people from the real criminals.”
Earlier, director Ameer had speculated that the leak may have come from within the film’s crew, noting that investigation of the editing tools used could reveal the source. He also suggested a political motive behind the leak and questioned why a formal investigation was not initiated, unlike the prompt investigation into the Karur stampede.
Actress Pooja Hegde is playing an important role in Jan Nayganexpressed disappointment over the leak, emphasizing the impact on the honor of the film’s cast and crew. Mamita Baiju also shared her grief, highlighting the dedication involved in making the film.
Following the leak, Chennai Cyber Crime Police has arrested six people following a complaint by KVN Productions. While the investigation is ongoing, several industry personalities including Rishabh Shetty, Chiranjeevi, Sivakarthikeyan and Vijay Deverakonda have condemned the leak.
