The demolition drive in Gurugram’s DLF area took an unexpected turn when actor Chandrachud Singh came out of his house to talk to officials as bulldozers removed a ramp outside his residence. A video of the conversation has since gone viral, with many praising the calm and polite manner in which the conversation took place.

The Town and Country Planning Department launched the drive on Friday as part of its crackdown against alleged illegal constructions in the area. Authorities demolished several structures which they said were in violation of approved building plans and bye-laws, including the ramp outside Singh’s house.

While the demolition was going on, the 57-year-old actor came out to talk to the team. He asked if any action would be taken inside his house and told that his father had purchased the property in 1991. He also raised questions on the removal of the ramp but remained calm during the conversation.

Singh further asked whether the demolition was being officially documented and requested the name of the officer leading the operation. District Town Planner Amit Madhauliya introduced himself, after which Singh shook hands with him and other team members. The conversation ended amicably.
