Versatile Arvind Swamy, who became a household name after appearing in Mani Ratnam’s acclaimed film Roja, recently opened up about his spinal cord injury battle and revealed that as a result he was on bed rest for two years. Stayed in bed till.

Speaking to Gulf News, Swamy said, “I did not do any film for 13 years, and I was not planning to make a comeback. It was just an opportunity provided by Mani Ratnam sir, and when people think that You can’t do that, you take it as a challenge. Talking about the challenges he faced during this difficult time, the actor said, “From the time I got up from my bed to the time I took a shower, I was in extremely unbearable pain, and I had to sit down three or four times. You may feel like you take a lot of things for granted, like jumping out of bed, but when you don’t have complete control over your limbs, it gives you a completely different perspective.”

Swami said that after completing Kadal, he ran two half-marathons for his own ‘satisfaction’, saying, “I needed to feel better about myself.”
