Veteran actor and television producer Dheeraj Kumar died at the age of 79 after battling pneumonia at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. The actor was admitted after issues of severe breathing issues earlier this week and was placed on ventilator support in ICU. His family confirmed the news and requested privacy, thanking fans and well -wishers for his prayers and support.

A well -honored person in Indian cinema and television, Kumar, had recently registered a public presence at the opening ceremony of the ISKCON temple in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Speaking at the event, he expressed his reverence for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sanatan Dharma. He said, “I came here with a sense of humility. While he called me VVIP, I believe that true VVIP is God,” he said showing his deep spiritual relationship.

Dheeraj Kumar started his journey in the entertainment industry in 1965 and left a permanent heritage through both films and television. Between 1970 and 1984, he acted in 21 Punjabi films and Creative Eye, a production house known for spiritual and mythological shows, such as ‘Om Namah Shiva’. He also acted in many notable Hindi films including ‘Swami’, ‘Heera Panna’, and ‘Ratan Ka Raja’.
