Actor Allu Arjun demands quashing of woman’s death case during Pushpa 2 screening

Actor Allu Arjun has approached the Telangana High Court to quash the FIR filed against him following the death of a woman during the premiere of Pushpa 2 in Hyderabad on December 4. The woman died of suffocation in the crowd in a theatre.

Actor Allu Arjun approached the Telangana High Court on Wednesday seeking quashing of the FIR filed against him in connection with the death of a woman during the premiere of his film Pushpa 2: The Rule in Hyderabad.

The incident occurred on December 4 when a huge crowd had gathered at Sandhya Theater to see the actor. A The 39-year-old woman, identified as Revathi, died Due to suffocation, and her eight-year-old son were admitted to the hospital. Police registered a case against Arjun, his security team and the theater management on December 5 following a complaint by the woman’s family.

Charges were registered under sections 105 and 118 (1) of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) at Chikkadapalli police station. Three persons – one of the theatre’s owners, a senior manager and the in-charge of the lower balcony – were arrested during the investigation.

In his petition in the High Court, Arjun requested that the FIR be quashed. It is expected that the court will hear this matter soon.

Special shows of Pushpa 2 were scheduled on 4 December at 9.30 pm in selected theaters across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Bengaluru. When Allu Arjun reached Sandhya Theater with his family, the crowd went out of control.

Among those trapped in the crowd was Revathi, who was at the theater with her two sons. She and her son were found unconscious and were taken to the hospital. Revathi was declared dead on arrival and her son Mr Tej was shifted to KIMS Hospital in Begumpet, Hyderabad, where his condition remains critical.
